This release focuses on making HabitStreak faster to use and better connected. Whether you're tracking habits solo or competing with friends in groups, version 2.6.0 has improvements for you.

๐Ÿ”” Push Notifications for Group Nudges

The most requested feature for Groups is finally here: push notifications. When a group member sends you a nudge, you'll now receive a real push notification โ€” even when the app is closed.

This is a game-changer for accountability partners. Research shows that social accountability dramatically improves habit completion rates, and timely nudges make that accountability feel real. Now when your workout buddy notices you haven't checked in, their encouragement reaches you instantly.

How it works:

  • Group members can send nudges from the group activity feed
  • You receive a push notification with their message
  • In-app alerts also appear in real-time when you're using HabitStreak
  • Notifications work on iOS, Android, and web

Push notifications are enabled by default when you sign in. You can manage notification preferences in Settings โ†’ Reminders.

โšก Quick Complete

Not every habit needs a detailed check-in. Sometimes you just want to tap and move on. That's what Quick Complete is for.

When creating or editing a habit, you can now enable "Skip Check-In" mode. With this enabled, tapping the habit icon immediately marks it complete โ€” no confirmation dialog, no notes prompt, just done.

This is perfect for simple binary habits like "Take vitamins" or "Make bed" where you don't need to track duration, quantity, or mood. Just tap, get your XP, and keep moving.

Your Quick Complete preference now syncs across all your devices via cloud sync. Set it once on your phone, and it's ready on your tablet and web too.

๐Ÿ“ค Share Prompt Controls

HabitStreak celebrates your wins โ€” streak milestones, badge unlocks, challenge completions โ€” with share prompts that let you post to social media. But we know not everyone wants to share every achievement.

Version 2.6.0 adds granular share prompt controls in Settings:

  • Master toggle โ€” Turn all share prompts on or off
  • Category controls โ€” Enable/disable prompts for badges, personal challenges, and group challenges separately
  • Daily limit โ€” Set how many share prompts you see per day (default: 2)
  • Pause option โ€” Temporarily disable share prompts for a week

The app also now automatically pauses share prompts if you dismiss them twice in a row. We want to celebrate your wins, not annoy you.

๐Ÿ› Bug Fixes

We also squashed some bugs in this release:

  • Help tips now stay dismissed โ€” Previously, the helpful tips banner on the home screen would reappear after closing the app. Now when you dismiss a tip, it stays dismissed.
  • Improved notification reliability โ€” Better push token management ensures notifications arrive consistently.

What's Next?

We're continuing to improve the Groups experience with more notification types coming soon โ€” including streak alerts, challenge reminders, and weekly summaries delivered via push. We're also working on Apple Watch support and widgets for quick habit tracking from your home screen.

Have feedback or feature requests? Tap Settings โ†’ Send Feedback in the app โ€” we read every message.
